My humble opinion:

2 european teams: Lithuania (a must) & Great Britain (thinking of the Olympics...)
One Asian: Lebanon
One African: Egypt

These two last countries are rather near from Turkey geographically and they give presence to different continents

(of course, I haven't taken into account how much money the countries can put at Fiba's disposal...

Well...
Putting Germany in right away, and not putting Lithuania can be explained ONLY by marketing reasons, or, to use a simple language - MONEY. Both teams tied for 11th place in Eurobasket09, whereas Lithuania took 4th at Olympics08 and 3rd in Eurobasket07. Overall, since 2003 Lithuania has been showing top sporting results, Eurobasket 03 - 1st, Olympics 04 - 4th, Eurobasket 05 - 5th, WorldCup 06 - 7th, Eurobasket 07 - 3rd, Olympics 08 - 4th and, of course the fatal last Eurobasket.
Not even to mention that FIBA requires a fee for giving a wildcard. Some people would call it selling a wildcard.
So, my question is - where have the ideals of sport been lost?
