Instead of this totally useless NBA-Europe-Idea I would suggest to think about an annual competition between the NBA Top 4 Teams against the Top 4 Teams of Euroleague, or something like that - maybe a kind of world Series of the winning teams of the best leagues. I would love to watch finally this comparison! And I'm definitely sure that such a 'World Series' wouldn't be dominated by the NBA-Teams.

I agree with Arkadios above about players having too many games... However, I would really be interested in watching a cup like this, it's something original and entertaining to see.. Similarly, I enjoyed nba europe live (or whatever it was called) as well as pao friendlies in the states, even if they ended up the way they did (with technical fouls etc.) - it's simply something new.

Therefore, I believe it would make sense to make the euroleague slightly smaller, for example less matches in the first round, as well as national championships .. Overall, maybe we could have 5-6 less matches throughout the whole year.

But then again, I might be wrong, I 'm not heavily supporting this opinion, I just speak as a fan, and I 'd be more interested in watching pao (for example, or cska, or other euro teams) vs teams from all over the world + nba, rather than more matches vs Larissa or other mediocre greek-league teams, where the result is known weeks before... Same happens in many euro leagues I guess (apart from spain), where a handful of teams dominate, and the whole championship is basically the play-offs and the home advantage till then. Most other matches take place just because they have to ...

@Arkadios
there I totally agree. Too much games destroy the players physically.

@Ale Ro
so do you think southamerican, asian or other teams would like to fly over somewhere in totally different time zones around christmas. this is usually the only break the players get so i dont believe in this possibility.

Then it shouldn't be in the summer... sometime else, maybe in Christmas and New Year's Day week. There already are a couple international club friendly tournaments on that week.

Players all around Europe reject their National teams in order to rest in the summer. Do you think that they will like doing it for their clubs?

Just a random example. Demetris Diamantides has played about 400+ games in the past 4 seasons without any break. Can he handle Greek A1 full seaosn+playoffs, Greek Cup, Euroleague regular season+playoffs+final four, Eurobasket, World Championship, Olympics, friendly tournaments AND this?

Even if he does, he'll be exchausted... not worth it...

as i said, this tournament is only worth if it will happen after the season, not as a preparation tournament in September. then it is totally useless, i agree

I totally agree with elaj. Such tournaments are totally useless for teams like Panathinaikos for example which will lose a lot of preparation time traveling overseas...

And what is wrong with FIBA EuroCup? I like it!

@elaj
why are you against such a tournament
I think that it could be very interesting

However, the teams have to go for it seriously and don't see it as an exhibition

I guess that the reason of this Tournament is the aim of FIBA of not losing grip in any other major tournament.

They don´t rule NBA, they don´t rule Euroleague, they don´t rule NCAA, National Federations don´t rule European Major Leagues...

FIBA Eurocup? Please...
