Terry, the NBA is not a national body, is also not affiliated with FIBA. They are a private entity, and they do what they want really. If they want to expand wherever they want to expand, they don't need to ask anybody really (although they would want to keep a good relationship with FIBA and the Euroleague if possible).

Hell, the NBA is already spread over two countries for that matter (US and Canada).

The NBA is not a danger to the euroleague because the NBA would not be allowed to play in foreign countries apart from odd exhibition games and promotional tours.
The NBA is a national league, not a competition like the euroleague. And a national league game cannot be played in another country unless there are reasons (war, suspension, catastrophes, etc) and must be approved by the two national federations as well as the international bodies. You think the Spanish federation would allow a team which doesnt fall under their jurisdiction to play in their country? I dont see the italians or greeks allowing that either.

Gee, London might be a good idea. I dont think they have a basketball federation. Or any basketballs.

London makes sense, they have no basketball or sport tradition whatsoever besides soccer. No basket, no volleyball, no handball, no waterpolo, suck as the olympics both summer and winter...Makes so much sense to have the Final 4 there....not.
