We finally got some basketball action from Athens, where Olympiakos played an exhibition game. The first time somebody posted the video, I wasn’t expecting too much – well, watch for yourself to see some Dwight Howard blocks and LeBron James dunks … made by Josh Childress.
Might be a great season to start following the Euroleague!
The stats from the game: Olympiakos 88, Kolossos 82. Josh Childress, 14 points.
Shawn Kemp, by the way, went back to the States to take care of the victims of hurricane Ike. His Italian team is now somewhat worried that Kemp might not come back. Now this is only a rumor picked up at the IBN forum, but those people are always pretty well informed. We will see.

i saw the first half of the olympiacos game vs avis. they really did not go to childress that much. he was not THE Man. he was ignored in the offense.
Then you missed the second half where he started getting into the game and did a lot of damage. That was a crappy game, though. Especially the first half was badly played by both teams, maybe because they were playing without spectators because of a penalty from the league, the lack of atmosphere made them seem very cold. But Josh will never be THE man in oly, he’s not supposed to be, and he’s not supposed to be the main scorer, but he has shown that he is able to explode for 10 points in a quarter or so if the D lets him get some space and Oly runs. Plus, Aris plays a very defensive minded game, the beginning of that game was just terrible to watch.
okay, i have seen the entire game. childress was a non-factor in the first three quarters of the game.
he was not only not “The Man,” he was “The Invisible Man” to many of his teammates who for three quarters never passed him the ball. they never ran any plays for him. he just stood there in the far corner while the others passed the ball to each other and looked to score.
I know he scored 15 of his 19 in the last seven minutes of the 4th in shawn marion-like fashion, but it is curious how his teammates froze childress out of the ball in the first 33 minutes of the basketball game.
He may be the most expensive role player on that Greek league.
