Haislep to join Baskonia
Baskonia fans had better brace themselves for a minor flurry of roster moves in coming days, as Lior Eliyahu may be returning to Maccabi Tel Aviv with the arrival of Marcus Haislip – plus Nemanja Bjelica’s coming aboard as well.
Spanish media, via Israel-based Haaretz, this morning reckons that hometown boy Eliyahu is “expendable” with the impending/completed signing of Panathinaikos’ Marcus Haislip. The logical choice for Eliyahu thereafter would be Tel Aviv, the team with which he had played for three seasons.
As for Haislip, nothing official has been announced by Euroleague, ACB or Caja Laboral Baskonia sources. However, NBA Draft Examiner and others are also reporting that the former Milwaukee Buck-to-Baskonia is a done deal. The Examiner also goes on to state that prospective Minnesota Timberwolf/Team Serbia Bjelica will be heading to Baskonia after a would-be deal with Olympiacos fell through.

Have you not heard anything about the new Mediterranean League? It’s making big news in Italy and Greece. Would be better than the VTB United League, the Spanish ACB League, and would arguably be comparable to the level of the Euroleague.
I’m just wondering if you have not heard anything about it? I figured it would be big news at the site here.
@ Mika: Yeah, i first heard about this a couple of days ago. I just haven’t had enough time to do thorough pieces for BallinEurope lately, but today looks good, so hopefully something soon! All i can say very quickly is that this league appears to be in the embryonic stages right now. More to come. Thanks for reading!
Cheers,
Os
@ Mika: Well, three hours of searches in three languages didn’t turn up very much. It’s possible that TalkBasket got a scoop here, but in any case, the would-be Mediterranean Basketball Association would appear to be quite a ways off yet:
