100% of the experts will lose a bet if CSKA doesn’t reach the Final Four
October 30, 2007 by Julien
I had a closer look at our 24 experts’ predictions of the season and look what I found out : each and every one of the 24 bloggers said CSKA Moscow would reach the Final Four. And if only it was all about the Final Four…
59 % of the experts assumed CSKA would not only go to Madrid but become the next Euroleague champs. 23 % put a coin on the reigning champs and a few others bet on a couple of underdogs :
1. CSKA 13 votes (out of 22)
2. Panathinaikos 5
3. Efes Pilsen 2
4. Real Madrid 1
5. FC Barcelona 1
As I said nobody dared to rule out CSKA out of the Final Four. And only 2 experts thought Panathinaikos wouldn’t make it too. Experts are conservative ? A little bit maybe :
1. CSKA 24 votes (out of 24)
2. Panathinaikos 22
3. Olympiacos 14
4. Real Madrid 12
5. Efes Pilsen 7
6. FC Barcelona 5
7. Maccabi Tel-Aviv 5
8. Tau Vitoria 4
9. Unicaja Malaga 2
10. Montepaschi Siena 1

Imagine a querter final game between CSKA and PAO. That would be nice.
Just because they blog about bball doesn’t make them experts.
Why don’t you put up a poll here so everyone can vote?
Is there still the rule that if two teams from the same country make it in the final four they have to face each other in the semifinal? i hope everyone remembers the back to back fights Olympiakos vs Panathinaikos in the semis in the 90s
Obviously not. Just remember the teams of Athens Final Four and you get your answer.
