Euroleague Fantasy Challenge scheduled to start today !
October 5, 2007 by Julien
Check out the press release I got this morning :
“The fourth edition of Euroleague Fantasy Challenge will launch on Friday, October 5, giving fans more than half-a-month to get their virtual Euroleague teams ready for the new season.”
Yeah, fun is back ! And they say Jeff Nordgaard is joining the fun as a guest player and commentator. You’ve got to know that many Euroleague players actually have a Fantasy Team. I remember talking to Teemu Rannikko about that last year. It was a few days after he was named MVP of the week and at the end of the interview, I asked him if he could give me a call before, next time he intended to have a terrific game. He just paused and said I should do just like him and always have Teemu Rannikko in my Fantasy Team.
But I think I never did… I remember I played it a lot last year with fellow members of French finest website Basketsession. I actually finished 4th out of 40 something. I missed the bronze medal because of Belinelli, Erdogan and David Hawkins, who never felt like having a decent game when I recruited them.
This year, as soon as we get rid of this “We are temporarily close. Please try later. » message on the Euroleague website, we start a BallinEurope Fantasy League ! And guess who’ll be the commish ? I can’t wait to feel like David Stern !

Can’t wait. Vujcic was a Fantasy Monster last season.
Papaloukas had his own team and his own group last season but he sucked in Fantasy.
I think Tony Parker had one too (The American one).
A tip: Andre Hutson, he is a monster.
