As Euroleague.net reported yesterday, Efes Pilsen and US coach David Blatt aren’t working together anymore.
Efes Pilsen General Manager Engin Ozerhun said that the club discussed the situation with Blatt after the game and they reached a mutual decision. Ozerhun said “Our results this season both in Turkey and Euroleague have not satisfied us. We decided to discuss the situation after the game against Pinar Karsiyaka and parted the ways with Mr. Blatt in mutual understanding.
side note: have you ever readĀ another official statement, when a coach gets fired? It is always the same – probably the media officers of the clubs google “What to write when firing a coach”
Where does this leave Blatt? From hero to zero – meaning from winning the European Championship with Russia 2007 in Spain to getting fired from a struggling Turkish Euroleague team? Or is this just the way heĀ planned to get out of Turkey to make his way to CSKA?
A whole paragraph with question – not good – but this are the facts – nobody really knows where Blatt’s next career step is going to be – I doubt he knows himself right now/

They fired 3 of their players in the middle of the season, what did they expect…? I say it’s time for Blatt to move to Spain.
He didn’t have to be fired from Efes to go to CSKA, so…it has nothing to do with that. Still kinda funny the next coach of the biggest club in Europe is one who didn’t survive in Efes.
