Welcome to phase two of BallinEurope’s new logo project – yes, it’s officially a project now. Thanks to everyone for weighing in with some really excellent suggestions and critiques.
As culled from the feedback, BiE has decided to give consideration to a few good tips. Firstly, the suggestion that perhaps both players in the logo should be reworked gained some ground among the commentators and BiE liked it as well. To this end, this week’s poll will focus on a European player currently in the NBA; keeping the traditional Bearded Man, a.k.a. “Pau” is also an option.
The favorite has probably got to be considered Ricky Rubio and yes, the argument that since “80% of articles [on BallinEurope] talk about the Living YouTube clip, Ricky just has to be on the logo, there is no doubt about it” is a salient one – though it should be noted that only about 6% of the pieces here mention Rubio; it just feels like 80%.
One oversight on BiE’s part which many readers covered was Nikola Pekovic, particularly with his ‘Wolves set as the website’s NBA home team, so he’s in the voting.
Some suggestions came in for Dirk Nowitzki and Tony Parker, so they get in despite advancing age. And BiE loved the idea of all-time fave Arvydas Sabonis as a possibility to tout the historical trips we sometimes take here.
Next week, BiE takes your opinions on the Euro NBAer’s opponent in the BallinEurope logo; until then, vote early and vote often!
