Tudanca still hot for Spain
A true clash of titans happens in the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women today with still-undefeated Spain taking on Team USA at 6pm Bangkok time (11am GMT, 1pm CET).
The Spanish ladies handed the red, white and blues their only loss of the tournament (and its first since 2001) when Spain overcame the USA in the opening game, 90-86.
In yesterday’s action, both finalists destroyed the opposition: Spain handled Argentina easily, 67-49, behind their notables in this tournament, Marta Tudanca and Marta Xargay Casademont; and Team USA crushed Australian giant-killer Canada’s hopes of pulling off two consecutive massive upsets, 82-51.
