Tricky headline – I know. I have been working with statistics for almost three days now. Thanks to Jorje, who made this amazing stats site, I will present the first result that kind of came out “on the side”. I was going through the effectivity of all European players and wanted to know which team gets the most out of their Europeans. Her is the Top 10 list for the week one.

explanation on the method you use to arrive at these numbers and/or what these numbers mean exactly would be much appreciated. plus, did y’all happen to use non-european, non-americans for your study too?
You are right – I just tried to post this side note that came out of my caculations for something else. But these numbers are the new NBA number: EFF. We took the average of one week for each player and added them up. I am open for any proposals to make it better.
Actually, efficiency recap numbers represent their performance in the last 3 games. It’s similar to a week but not the same. Maybe also a breakdown by player would be valuable because Warriors have 4 europeans and they will always come up in the top 3.
I can think of one way to make it better… try out the word “efficacy” in place of “effectivity.” You know… considering one of them is actually a word, and the other isn’t.
I’d still like more explanation–I think this could be interesting, and like the direction you’re heading here. Some clarification however, such as if this is limited solely to players with past high level Euro league experience, or is it generally Euro born players who never reaaally earned their stripes in Europe (Sasha Pavlovic’s limited experience versus say Luis Scola)? Anyhow, interesting stuff.
