Blogging on Euroleague.net

October 23, 2007

Now these blogs on Euroleague.net are our new friends. They give us plenty of fun and right now even more things to laugh about. Last entry was by Belgian center Tomas van den Spiegel from Prokom Trefl Sopot, which is actually pretty interesting since he played CSKA last night with Prokom Trefl – the team he just left. It did not work out that well as we know but he had interesting things to say.

Of course, the domestic leagues are important, too, but they are not the same thing. The Euroleague is special, and I’m not getting paid to say this. Special for me because I’ve changed teams over the summer. I moved from the noisy, chaotic and crazy – but don’t get me wrong, also very charming – city of Moscow, to the quiet, peaceful and relaxing beach town of Sopot, Poland.

Now be honest – did you know Poland has a beach? I know it is the north sea but hey do you consider that a beach? It’s still cold up there!

The thing that was a little bit funny to me was his sentence about not getting paid by the Euroleague. Of course he doesn’t for the blog – or anything else that has to do with the Euroleague but one thing is for sure: Players really like the Euroleague for the good competition and the show case they get there. If you have two offers with the same amount of money but the on club playing international competition – I sure you will chose that club.

Even though Prokom lost last night, Tomas came out and showed that he was ready. I like his attitude – good job Tomas!
