After having waited the whole day for the Euroleague games of the night, I came back home and read Tobi’s post about which games to watch. So i figured out that the top game will be played in Moscow, and as the French TV only airs the games of the French teams, and I wanted to see that game, I decided to register myself for Euroleague TV.
The registration process was going on without any problem but at the time when the game should start: NOTHING. The stream did not work. So I entered the Help Chat where an agent told me that they have technical problems and that I have to be patient. Hmm. Luckily, I did not just paid for this game but directly bought the whole season. I was trying to restart everything every two minutes, but nothing changed. So i followed the game on the Live Score and saw my Fantasy trade Savrasenko being benched after 2 minutes with foul trouble. At least one good move by changing him and bringing in somebody else.
The time went on, and nothing happened on my Euroleague TV. By the way, the two other games started. Zalgiris vs Prokom and Efes vs AJ Milano. As I was still trying to bring my stream on work for the CSKA game, I thought why not check the other games. So I went for Istanbul, but the same problem. So i switched to Kaunas, where the stream worked, but what an awful commentator. And no sound of the arena at all. Was this guy sitting in the Euroleague office somewhere in Spain to talk about this game? Hey Eurloleague TV team, I really like the idea of the streaming on the Net of every game. But please, tell your speakers to not try to emphasize every shot like it would be the game winner. It is not natural how this guy spoke. And please avoid sentences like “Oh what a shot from downtown from number ten” after the game has been stopped with a foul call 2 seconds earlier.
Ok, back to the action. After having watched the first quarter, dominated by Prokom, and as the CSKA game still did not work, I decided that I also have a private life and went out for a dinner. I programmed my Recorder to tape the game between Roanne and Partizan in the hope to watch at least one full game. After the dinner, I came back home, it was halftime in Clermont-Ferrand where Roanne is playing. But what did I see on my TV, Icehockey??? What happened? somebody or something must have come to my remote control as the channel changed and I was taping an NHL game? So I switched back to Euroleague to see an announcement on my Harddisc recorder: Not enough memory anymore, the recording will stop in 1 minute. Come on…
I selected quickly some older games to delete them and managed to start a taping process for the rest of the 15 minutes of the Roanne game as I decided to go get some beers at a local pub to have something like a Halloween feeling. At least when I came back, the taping worked well and I could see the great last quarter of the game where my fantasy hero Brion Rush was nearly hitting the third game winner in a week. But Nikola Pekovic destroyed all of Roanne’s hopes with and And1 7 seconds before the end. The last try of our favorite Blogger Adam Hess hit nothing but nothing and the game was over.
Sorry for Roanne, but at least when checking the stats of the different games, I was happy about my Fantasy team. Three players (Carlos Cabezas, Marc Salyers, Brion Rush) only were on the court and all of them scored over 20 Fantasy points. So at least, even if I could not see too much of basketball action, the evening was saved by these three players and my satisfaction to have sold Savrasenko. If the trade of Jonas Maciulis against Yotam Halperim was good, I will see tonight as well as the change of Tiago Splitter against Petravicius. At least, the two trades should bring some credits.
