Allen Iverson’s Turkish arrival, introduction delayed

November 6, 2010

Ah, bummer: Reportedly, Mr. Answer’s arrival in Turkey – and thus his high-profile presentation to surely already-adoring Beşiktaş Cola Turka fans – has been delayed. In a brief story, Besiktas officials, via the Associated Press, informs that Iverson will not even be arriving in Istanbul until Monday, November 8th.

Presumably, then, the official unveiling of A.I.-as-Beşiktaş-stud could be delayed until November 16, when the team hosts KK Hemofarm Stada in Istanbul, or even November 20 for the Fenerbahçe Ülker game. Beşiktaş brass has confidently assured in the past that Iverson will suit up for the Fenerbahçe game – a seemingly essential need against the red-hot Euroleague side, though here’s to thinking the Turks could really use Mr. Answer in the Hemofarm match as well, with the Serbian team one of the stronger Eurocup contenders.
