BallinEurope Fantasy Division: New deadline

October 21, 2008

We are incredible happy to see how many fantasy junkies have already joined our private division. But because of the Monday opening game, the Euroleague has blocked any opportunity to join our league at the moment. So the initial deadline of Wednesday had to be changed because we got a multitude of people that still want to win the incredible prize of two Final Four tickets and we don’t want to let them out.

So, in order to give equal opportunities to everybody, we changed our entry deadline to Tuesday 28th October 2008. Check here if you want to know how to participate and the rules.

    It changes the whole thing if you make this new deadline though .. People can decide to put their ‘best’ team on, one who has scored better after the first round, and also some people can put new teams, which are created after first game with all the ‘good’ choices from week 1 (i.e. players whose credits will definately rise after a very good first match).

    The idea of having the deadline before the first match + only one team was very good, if you change it then things will not be fair ..

    And I don’t really care about the fairness of it all in terms of the prize, I mean I won’t win the prize, but it’s much more fun to have everyone begin from an equal starting point.. I understand you don’t want to let people out, then make another private league, let everyone know and set the new deadline for everyone to join…

    my thoughts anyway …

    Usual Greek whining ๐Ÿ˜›

    The deadline was Wednesday but Euroleague blocked the private leagues. If it was Monday you would be absolutely right, but you aren’t.

    if I win this I will take you to Berlin with me ๐Ÿ˜›

    @belalik
    i understand your point but we had to go for this changes because of the Euroleague move to lock it down right now
    Now everybody has the same rules and same chances to win it all

    @WTF
    Let the trashtalk begin

    Anyone has Giricek on his team?

    Euroleague blocked it on monday for good reason, there was a game on monday .. One could benefit from this … First weeks is all about maximising credits, so checking which players did well and then forming a team is a clear advantage. You ‘re not giving same chances to everyone with this change…

    I don’t really give a damn, but I just thought it ‘d be nice to have a nice clean start for everyone, it makes it more interesting… But then again, it ‘s going to be fun anyway, it’s just a minor detail. So the hell with it ๐Ÿ™‚

    @WTF – I ‘ll see you in Berlin buddy, beers are on me ๐Ÿ™‚

    Not really Tom, the scores form Week 1 will count if I understood correctly, and since the whole fantasy was locked up since Monday, you can’t form a team after Monday.

    Who is in your avatar? Zdovc? You don’t have togo to Berlin for German beers ๐Ÿ™‚

    Better to have Giricek than Turckan. 12 points vs. 9 kredits.

    Yes, but you can surely create a team after thursday, and then join the league before tuesday the 28th … At least that’s what you could do last year, you could create a new team at any point..

    Yes, you can find german beer anywhere, but beer fanatics insist that beer does not ‘travel’ well, the closer to the source you enjoy it, the better. Especially for good, draft beer. So anyway, you give me the ticket, and I ‘ll cover the beer expenses and knowledge, no worries ๐Ÿ™‚

    Yes, it is Zdovc, he was my favourite player back in the days, I really enjoyed watching this guy play basketball…

    right, you have to go to munich for the beer as is known, not berlin.

    OK, since we started this beer talk, I remember a passionate friend who lived in Ireland a few years, insisting that guiness does not travel well. He said it wasn’t good even outside Dublin. He said that if you have to drink guiness, then outside of Dublin it’s better to have it bottled rather than draft, otherwise ‘it tastes like sh*t’, his exact, graphic words..

    So we ‘ll have to extend our stay in Germany in order to visit Munich as well …

    Hmmm… I see multiple teams from the same user(s) in the Private League.

    Anyway… Oh well, I drink Guiness in a can.

    Multiple teams will be deleted after the deadline
    so users with more teams can still change which team they want in.
