Beko BBL Cup Top Four: When, where to watch

April 10, 2010

The Bundesliga’s Beko BBL Cup Top Four tournament goes down this weekend with four games in two days. The tournament would appear to be a bit of a misnomer at final glance, since none of Germany’s current top three teams (ALBA Berlin, EWE Baskets Oldenburg, Telecom Baskets Bonn) will play; in actuality, three of the Top Four competitors survived playoff rounds last month, while Deutsche Bank Skyliners gets a free pass by dint of its hosting.

The early game today pits Brose Baskets Bamberg (currently 5th on the BBL table at 19-11) against BG Göttingen (4th, 21-8) at 4.55pm – hey, that’s what it says here – while the Skyliners (7th, 18-12) take on Eisbären Bremerhaven (6th, 19-11) at 7pm in Frankfurt.

All tickets for all games have reportedly been sold out for quite some time, but you can watch the games – “Live und exclusiv,” as they say in German – at a website called D:SF. Click below the break for some very cheesy hype “thanks” to the lads of BG Göttingen, followed by a very obscure behind-the-scenes YouTube of said commercial.
