Betting on Euroleague basketball: Pointspreads, over/under lines for week three, day one

November 2, 2009

Ah, now we’re in the full swing of things as week three of the Euroleague season tips off tonight, featuring a number of nice matchups and a few challenges for the underdogs. For a picture of what the experts expect, check out BallinEurope.com sponsor Ball in Europe sponsor Bet 365’s pointspreads and over/under lines for tonight’s games. See anything you like…?

Maroussi BC vs. Lottomatica Roma
Handicap: Maroussi minus 2.5
over/under: 148.5

Olympiacos Piraeus vs. Lietuvos Rytas
Handicap: Olympiacos minus 12.0
over/under: 154.5

BC Khimki vs. EWE Baskets Oldenburg
Handicap: Khimki, minus 11.5
over/under: 150.5

Asvel Basket vs. Montepaschi Siena
Handicap: Asvel, plus 12.5
over/under: 146.5

Fenerbahce Ülker vs. Cibona
Handicap: Fenerbahce, minus 9.5
over/under: 146.5

Asseco Prokom vs. AJ Milano
Handicap: Prokom minus 3.0
over/under: 154.5

As for what looks good for some “investment” purposes … well, the mental wheels are surely grinding on the Ülker-Cibona line. Fenerbahçe Ülker has been quite the maddening team in its inconsistency, looking totally brutal in game one against the Barcelona juggernaut and turning in a bizarre performance for an exciting win in game two against Asvel: 60 percent shooting (27/45) while managing just eight free throws and a dismal 5-for-24 from long range made that game much closer than necessary. Plus, is Cibona really *that* bad this year? Here’s to thinking Cibona might cover that 9.5 and the 146.5 over/under has got to be over with these two “defenses” in play.

One also wonders about Roma as 2.5-point underdogs. If Luca Vitali returns, couldn’t the Italians even win outright in Greece tonight? Particularly with the injury problems thrashing the Maroussi lineup (as of this writing, Kostas Kaimakoglou and Michalis Pelekanos are game-time flu-sufferings decisions and three others continue to sit with woes)?

Bet 365 is offering a number of odds, lines and proposition bets on this week’s games above and beyond those listed here. For more information, please click on the logos or banner at right. Good luck, everyone, and enjoy week three, part one!
