Big guys on the move

January 17, 2008

Tonight, there have been confirmation of some rumors about big men switching teams throughout Europe.

  • According to EL.TV commentators, CSKA brings back Tomas van den Spiegel from Prokom Trefl in order to fill their hole in the paint after the injuries of Smodis and Savrasenko. VDS has still a big contract with the Polish team and because they did not want to pay a buy-out, CSKA management bought a new player for the Poles. In fact, Pape Saw will leave Italy and move to Poland and this transfer will be paid by the Russians in compensation for letting van den Spiegel move to Moscow for free. Nice deal for both teams.
  • Besides the Belgian Center, the Russians also want to sign Darjus Lavrinovic according to the Lithuanian website sportalas.com
  • Talking about Lithuania, former Zalgiris player and Rap king of Kaunas Tanoka Beard has been cut by his team in Israel.
  • Talking about Zalgiris, they are looking for a big man as they are not so happy with the actual performances of Michael Bradley who had been signed after he got released by ALBA Berlin earlier this year. According to infosport.lt, Zalgiris is having a list of 15 candidates they are looking at. Now one of these 15 has already been signed by Moscow today.
