In Houston, exit Von Wafer, enter David Andersen

August 13, 2009

As Von Wafer exited the scene in Texas to come to Greece, the Houston Rockets officially completed a multi-year deal with Team Australia’s David Andersen. Andersen is well-known to Euroleague devotees as a member of Virtus Bologna, Montepaschi Siena, CSKA Moscow, and most recently FC Barcelona since coming to play European basketball in 1999.

Andersen has also represented Australia in numerous international tournaments and earned golds for Oz in the FIBA Oceania Championships in 2005 and 2007. Though he was with Team Australia as recently as the Beijing Games, no word yet as to whether Andersen will be playing for the Boomers in the Oceania tournament tipping off in late August.
