NBA Playoffs: Darius Songaila punches LeBron James

May 1, 2008

I know, the Euroleague Final Four is right around the corner – but since Darius Songaila is Lithuanian, I think we should talk about this: As the Cleveland Cavaliers are playing the Washington Wizards right now (Cleveland is leading the series 3-1), Darius Songaila took a shot at the King of Kings, LeBron James.

Thanks to ballhype and a great NBA blog (Odenized), I just stumbled upon this and was wondering if this was a hit at all and what LeBron James was doing after he got “hit.” What LeBron does looks kind of funny to me  but I guess it was smart not to go after Darius.

Anybody remember the times when that was just a two shot foul? (if the ref even called it) lol

I just got done checking out the ESPN highlight collection for that game. What’s funny is that, on essentially every key basket for the rest of the game after the Songaila move, either Songaila and James gets beaten on. Hilarious! See it here:

    Cheers.
