Our provider does not like BallinEurope

October 23, 2008

We always thought we would be independent, could write what we want and actually do what we want. Of course we want to keep the standards high, but I am sure our readers know what to expect from us.

Starting today at about 11:30am, our provider just cut us off for, as they say, having too much traffic. They would be very happy that we want them to host our very successful site, but it would influence their other customers.

Well, great – so they just took BallinEurope off the net and did not even tell us. We got many emails, even phone calls about what would be wrong with our site.

We have been annoyed about the problems euroleague.net had with their site and now we have been off a whole day ourselves – funny.

Well, we went to a dedicated server so that these problems won’t happen again. Once again sorry for this message the whole day:

ABOUT
BallinEurope.com was founded in September 2007 by Christophe Ney (who now runs the excellent scouting-themed website European Prospects) and Tobias Seitz, both then bloggers for FIBA.com with over 10 years’ worth of experience in the professional basketball world each. The mission then was to “provide a very unique perspective of Basketball in and about Europe.”
