Attention job-seeking players: Show your stuff for European coaches, agents at the 2010 Ireland Showcase

August 15, 2010

If you’re a player that needs to be seen to hook up with a European club for the 2010-11, BallinEurope.com can recommend a unique program that is guaranteed to get you noticed by scouts and coaches from all over The Continent.

New York-based talent agency Performance Sports Management is holding its innovative “2010 Ireland Showcase” event from September 2-7 in Belfast, and there’s still plenty of time for you to get yourself one of 20 roster spots in the four-team tournament.

At its heart, the Ireland Showcase is an event for professional basketball players seeking to be hired by professional basketball teams. PSM will form two teams to compete in the event along with Irish pro club UCD Marian and touring exhibition team Tolka Rovers.

Thus far confirmed to be actively seeking talent at the event are scouts from Estonia, Sweden, and Kuwait’s leagues, plus coaches from Britain and Ireland. PSM has also pledged to bring in representatives from at least three other countries.

Perhaps best of all for players is that all expenses are paid during the event: All you’ll need to do is get a ticket to Ireland.

Something of an America-based version of the event was done in August in Baltimore to good success and the PSM blog even includes extensive scouting reports of the competitors as compiled by the professionals attending that tournament event. We’ll be seeing some of the Baltimore Showcase players on this side of the ocean for the Ireland Showcase as part of the “USA Cougars” team.

If you’re a coach, scout or player who would like to attend Performance Sports Management’s 2010 Ireland Showcase, please drop us an email at ballineurope@yahoo.com with “IRELAND SHOWCASE” in the subject header, or check the official blog for the event by clicking here.
