SportingBet lines and odds for Euroleague week seven matchups

December 10, 2009

A great slate of games on tap tonight as Euroleague week seven wraps up. Unicaja, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Montepaschi Siena look to clinch a Top 16 spot, while Cibona Zagreb hopes to stave off elimination and things in Group B are destined to get knottier. The bookmakers’ lines on the games forecast at least two nail-biters, plus a third that should be included, in BallinEurope’s opinion.

The pointspreads and over/under lines for tonight’s games, as provided by Euroleague/Ball in Europe sponsor Sporting Bet, follow below the break.

Cibona Zagreb vs. FC Barcelona
Handicap: Cibona plus 10
Over/under: 143.5

Zalgiris Kaunas vs. Montepaschi Siena
Handicap: Zalgiris plus 8
Over/under: 149.5

Olympiacos vs. Unicaja
Handicap: Olympiacos minus 10
Over/under: 160.5

Maccabi Tel Aviv vs. Caja Laboral Baskonia
Handicap: Maccabi minus 6
Over/under: 154.5

Lottomatica Roma vs. CSKA Moscow

Handicap: Roma plus 2
Over/under: 142.5

Partizan Belgrade vs. Efes Pilsen
Handicap: Partizan minus 2
Over/under: 144.5

Well? Do you see it? Seriously, is Maccabi *really* a *six*-point favorite over Baskonia? Sure, the Israeli team has spent much of 2009-10 thus far proving they have weapons enough to threaten for a final eight appearance at least, but tight defense and discipline in the halfcourt game would appear to be the Spanish antidote against the more free-flowing Maccabi squad. Interesting factoid about this game: Maccabi leads the Euroleague in steals per game, while Baskonia is stingiest in giving up turnovers. Figure Baskonia to cover that six.

Otherwise, Partizan should win by more than two at home as the team continues to find its identity after dropping its first two Euroleague games.
