How to win in 2 seconds: put 6 guys on the floor!

March 31, 2008

After we talked already about how to win a game in 0.2 seconds or how to lose it because of stupidity, we have got this incredible video of the third German league.

In fact, the game in the German ProB was the big clash between Kirchheim Knights and ETB Essen. Both teams are fighting to earn a spot to move up to the 2nd league in Germany. So you can imagine the importance of the game. And it was a close one. Within the last seconds of the game, Tim Burnette scores the baskets that could give the win for Kirchheim. But Essen’s guard Brandon Lincoln brings up the ball, struggles but somehow, the refs decide to give them the ball back with side inbound and 2 seconds to go. What happens then, you can see on the video put online this weekend.

Of course, Kirchheim protested after the game and we will keep you updated on how this situation will be decided. On the other hand, it is a pretty interesting inbound play that should be taken into account by the top European coaches in the future 😉

We discuss the “problem” heavily at the german basketball site (www.schoenen-dunk.de). More than 8600 people looked on the pages since less than 24 hours. A lot of the people a very scared about this
For me thats more than an accidentally situation. The Essen player is doing a bad job for an honesty basketball world.
