Euroleague final four: euroleague.net brings its A-game

May 1, 2008

To be honest, euroleague.net has been a place where I wouldn’t spend too much time unless I really knew what I was looking for. This morning everything changed, and that’s why I’ll do a few short euroleague.net cigarettes:

  • Pictures of CSKA, TAU, Maccabi and Siena arriving in Madrid. The official web site of CSKA has also posted some pictures, including this one of Ettore Messina including his family – I mean, that’s where privacy starts and media coverage stops, right? Since we have it, check out Ettore Messina Jr.’s CSKA hat. I also like the Russian airplane row.
  • media coverage at the Final Four: “Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce that the 2008 Final Four in Madrid will again be one of the most-covered sporting events in the world. Television broadcasts of the Final Four will reach 159 countries and a potential audience of 1.7 billion viewers, not counting many more who can watch the games on Euroleague.tv.”
  • Talking about Euroleague TV: As we already know, Dan Peterson will be commentating for Euroleague.tv at the final four. What we can expect from the “ambassador of European AND American basketball” can be seen here.
  • The Euroleague referee coverage – GREAT, if Mr. LaMonica were at the Final Four. We could see him warming up and preparing for the game in his locker room. The best: during each of the semifinal and final games, the chief of each refereeing crew will wear a live microphone; like I said – GREAT, if LaMonica were one of them..
