Svetislav Pesic spurns Unicaja Malaga offer for 2010-11

March 8, 2011

Pesic to Unicaja: Thanks, but no thanksNo word yet on where Power Electronics Valencia head coach – and certain strong candidate for Euroleague Coach of the Year honors – Svetislav Pesic will be taking his prodigious cerebral talents for 2011-12, but he has made it clear that it won’t be to Unicaja Malaga.

French-language Basket News today relays a story from a Valencia radio talk show on which Pesic stated he had received an offer from Malaga for next season but has turned it down.

With an already incredible CV that includes four league titles in Germany, two in Spain and one in the former Yugoslavia, Pesic’s job in 2010-11 may be his best yet with last season’s Eurocup champion now in the Euroleague final eight and in the three spot on the ACB table.

Pesic took over the Valencia position in November and his contract is valid through the end of this season.
