From Indiana to Lithuania: Indie rock tribute to Arvydas Sabonis

July 17, 2012

How did BallinEurope miss this when released in March? We’ll blame it on the collapse of the mainstream recording industry … better late than never, BiE supposes. Click below the link to hear the audacious single “Arvydas Sabonis” by Indiana-based rock collective Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s. Lyrics run below the video for the karaoke effect.

“Arvydas Sabonis” by Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s, lyrics ©2012
Always been strange
Never seemed cool
A Lithuanian
I wanted as a friend
Always been afraid
You came a little late
Who truly eats his food
Off a proper big man’s plate
Didn’t you?

Arvydas Sabonis
Arvydas Sabonis

Fifteen points a game
A model for a wife
You were laughin’ last
You had a pretty good life
Didn’t you?
Arvydas Sabonis
Come on back – we miss you (8x)

surprisingly decent. Maybe because I am from Indiana and was a big Sabonis fan. Especially when he had the mustache and mullet in the USSR days!

Hahahaha. This is so awesome. There is no such thing as too much love for Sabonis in my opinion.
