August 20, 2014

BWCB Opening Ceremony
We are down the the penultimate match-up of the 2014 Basketball World Cup of Beer. 24 beers, one of teach of the nations in the FIBA World Cup of Basketball, began in this tournament, 4 made it to the semi-finals. We’ll find out the gold medal winner on Friday but first, we find out which of the two unfortunate losers in the semis will take bronze.

Your bronze medal match-up is:
Old Harbor Kofresi Stout (Puerto Rico) vs Little Creatures Pale Ale (Australia)

And now, let the battle for bronze commence…

Old Harbor Kofresi Stout (Puerto Rico) vs Little Creatures Pale Ale (Australia)
It’s the Americas vs Oceania as one of the pre-tournament favourites takes on the shocking Cinderella. Old Harbor is a 6 per cent alcolhol by volume beer that has coffee, liquourice, caramel, and citrus flavours in the taste. The dry feel really polishes off matters nicely. Little Creatures is a beauty at 5.2 per cent ABV. Balance is king here, it’s got a mixture of orange, lime, and coriander in the aroma with a good touch of lemon and malt in the flavour. Both of these beers deserve to go home with a medal, only one can take bronze. Third place in the 2014 Basketball World Cup of Beer goes to…
