A Belgian Euroleague team?

November 20, 2007

After I saw Tomas van den Spiegel’s performance in Bologna last week I was stunned – not really by his performance but about the way he acted on the court. I was hoping to get a blog post from Tomas and somehow it just appeared on Euroleague.net.First of all – Tomas – don’t you mind that the Euroleague hasn’t corrected your name? Since you have this blog on Euroleague.net it says: TOMAS VAN DEN DPIEGEL, PROKOM TERFL SOPOT. Are you actually reading your own blog? I guess you probably would if they would allow comments – which they don’t.

Reading this post we get a lot of information how Tomas felt about coming back to Bologna. I was wondering why he tried to “talk” to the fans during the game. After every free throw he raised his fist – and after a while the Italian fans got mad and sang some interesting “van den Spiegel” songs. Now I don’t understand Italian but it didn’t sound like “We love van den Spiegel”. Even after the game he was still hyped and made some strange finger signs into the camera.

Well besides that his performance was really cool and he can be really proud of that. I don’t understand why more people sent him a congratulation message than when he got married but I guess most of the people actually did go to his marriage and congratulated him in person.

We also know that Tomas wants to have his own Belgian Euroleague team by 2012 – if he can find at least five players – he mentions Axel Hervelle from Real Madrid, Oostende point guard Sam Van Rossom and himself but why did he not mention Didier Mbenga?

TVDS may be dirty, but I don’t consider that as a negative asset of a player.
Check Nikol Prkacin, he may also be one of the dirtiest players, however, he is still having success with his trademark move donw low.

Dirtiest… I consider this as a positive thing… maybe because I like playing “dirty basketball”. 🙂

Please read the blog again cause you didn’t read it well. VDS played for Fortitudo and he played against Virtus wich are rivals.
Why he doesn’t mention Mbenga. Their are reasons enough for that. Playing(read:sitting on the bench) in the nba doesn’t prove that he is a good player.
