Devotion?

November 7, 2007

I want everybody to watch the Euroleague theme song that everybody loved so much last season. Of course they play it over and over again this season, but it looks like you don’t get bored, right?

Anyway, do me a favor and watch the theme now:

Ok, done?

Now, let me know, if you saw last nights Euroleague game between Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul and Lottomatica Roma. I happened to see the second half on Italian TV and I was really glad when the TV reminded me to switch the channel to Adam Sandler’s movie “Click”.

I haven’t seen a team yet this season that played with so much NOT devotion like the Lottomatica team last night. I only kept watching to see how Lorbek and Stefansson did because they are on my fantasy team. At least they where Roma’s top scorers with 15 and 13 points.

What is wrong with some of these Italian teams? Milano is probably one of the weakest teams in the Euroleague, Virtus Bologna lost the city derby by almost 20 points and now Roma plays like they lost all of the so much needed “devotion”. Come on Italy show some of pride!

EDIT: We just got an email from our regular reader Ivanhoe who has some comments on the game’s commentators. Is it just me, or does the commentator from the game talks like Borat. If you don`t believe me just watch the game. I could not quite concentrate on the game, until James White throw one down in the first quarter. 2nd Quarter Roma is still a sleep and looking awful until they start to press. Anyway i share your thoughts on the commentators, there is no way that they are sitting in the gym.

I was wondering where Ivanhoe was watching the game but I assume Euroleague.tv?

Yeah I had the very same feeling. Why did Borat end up on Euroleague.TV ? The guy sounds like he knows a thing or two about basketball and he has the vocabulary and stuff. It’s just the pronounciation that really sounds horrible. Oh and there’s another one who sounds like Zoiberg from Futurama…

somehow I never understand what is the point of Tobias’ posts. What is that devotion clip doing here? and what it has to do with Borat-talking-comentator?

This here is challenging content – that is why we are different 🙂 Just kidding – but I think it is pretty clear that this post is about Lottomatica – where Roma showed no DEVOTION and where the COMMENTATORS sounded like BORAT.

    The theme is nice…

    You are underestimating Italian clubs.

    Siena is Final Four favorite.

Romas has played all 3 games away and with teams like Panathinaikos and Real Madrid.

I watched the 2nd half, it was like ‘i get the ball, run 20 metres of pitch and make a layup without passing’…

Of course my eyes were on Stefansson, Lorbek and Kutluay. Fantasy you see…

    Leave my Kazakh friend alone…
