European Basketball Betting Tips

June 22, 2017

All year round, Europe watches as the best talent in the continent battle it out for both individual and team honours. From the EuroLeague to the Lega, A players fight for different coveted trophies and prizes. As players strive to make a difference on the pitch, so too do punters in maximising profits. With a careful analysis of the potential twists and turns in a marathon league or knockout tournament, you can maximise your profits if you pay due diligence.

The league in France and Italy are still very much alive and a lot can happen before the curtains finally come down. In Lega Basket Serie 1, Reyer Venezia is looking to win the Italian title for only the third time in the club’s history, but they have a major stumbling block in their way, that is Trento. Reyer Venezia goes into this match as hot favourites to walk away with a win due to their impressive performances so far this season. Trento will start the match as the underdogs against the raging force of Reyer Venezia. However, Trento is a team hungry for success. According to a few odds predictions online, Reyer Venezia is at 1.27 odds on to lift the Lega 1 title this season, whilst Trento is 3.80-second favourites to be crowned Lega 1 champions.

In the EuroBasket Championship tournament, there are many teams battling for top honours, with the crowned winners most likely to be Turkey and Italy both in group B, according to bookmakers. Turkey is a perennial title contender as they are the basketball powerhouses in Europe. Betway has Turkey at 20/23 odds as outright winners, while Italy is pegged further back at 11/6 odds. Turkey has already shown their intent in keeping their hegemony on the continent by dismantling both Italy and Slovakia. Their next group game is against lowly Belarus and they are tipped to walk over the match with some bookies deciding against giving Belarus any chance with no odds at all thus demonstrating the superiority of the Turkish. In case the final match pits the front-runners, Turkey and Italy, an upset can be on the cards as Italy will definitely be looking to redeem themselves after suffering a point defeat in the group game.
In Switzerland, the Lions de Geneve will be hoping to lift their first Coupe Swiss at their home territory against BBC Monthey. After a long basketball tournament which has produced electrifying excitement in the Coupe Swiss, where the games come thick and fast, the Lions de Geneve and BBC Monthey will look to give the tournament a fitting finale. According to Bet365, Lions de Geneve are favourites for the crown with 1.62 odds whilst BBC Monthey is second favourites with 2.20 odds. However, the slight variation in the odds range means that there is a chance of BBC Monthey claiming the Coupe Swiss on its arch-rivals home turf.

In France, ES Chalon and Strasbourg will take to the court to prove who is better than the other in the Pro A League final. Both teams have been superb in the tournament as they collected some great results against equally good teams. Strasbourg will take to the pitch as bookies’ tips, but only just. Betway is tipping Strasbourg at 10/11 odds to be crowned Pro A champions, while ES Chalons are not very far behind on 25/20 odds. Just as the odds suggest, there is very little to choose from ES Chalon and Strasbourg and it will come down to the better team on the day to make it at the grand stage.

With games all year round, punters can surely expect to win at all times.
