"Grizzlies edged by Unicaja in Thriller"?

October 10, 2007

This is what nba.com reports this morning. Now did you actually see the game? Do you agree with a “Thriller”? I mean it was a close game in the end and it was exciting but to call it a Thriller is a little bit too much I think. But what do you expect when an NBA team takes a loss on a Euro-team?

Talking about a thriller – the game started with the Grizzlies up by as much as 10 then turned around with Unicaja Malaga up by ten and then again the Grizzlies up by ten. If could have been a thriller in the end if Mike Miller would have made his two free throws but he didn’t.

Now what was positive for the Grizzlies in this game? Well Juan Carlos “la bomba” Navarro showed the American fans that he can shoot 5/6 from the three point line. The other Spanish guy Mr. Gasol wasn’t a big surprise, we know he is a good post player.

What might be interesting for all Europeans and especially Euroleague fantasy players – check out Boniface Ndong. He clearly won the game for Unicaja Malaga with his tip in and dunk at the end where the Grizzlies defense was kind of taking a break. You might want to rethink if he doesn’t help your fantasy team since he is “only” 44 points.

I just changed one of my centers..

What did you expect from Yanks? Not to mention that these games are played solely by NBA rules…

As for N’Dong, how many minutes will he get with Santiago and Heislip in front if him and De Miguel, Pietrus behind him?

You mean the one Pietrus who now plays for Estudiantes, Arkadios 😉

yeah, Pietrus is in Estudiantes now.. NDong is going to play more minutes than De Miguel, that´s for sure..
I don´t mean to say that NDong is a bad center, but come on the Grizzlies made him look like he was the new Wilt Chamberlain (Unicaja 57 rebs- Memphis 37)! The Grizzlies have a huge hole in the frontcourt (specially when Stromile Swift is playing, ha ha..)
Navarro was crazy yesterday night, I´m glad for him..
