How about 12 hours of LIVE basketball?

January 5, 2008

Basketball in Italy is special. Not only the fans, players and coaches go crazy – it was also the start for guys like him (make sure you click on this link).  Following the NBA in the US it was nothing new to see double and even triple headers but the TV station SKY from Italy does something I have never heard of – 12 hours of LIVE basketball with 5 games. It is called “Basket Day” and the games will be shown tomorrow on January 6th.

basket day

For those lucky people with SKY (only avaliable in Italy) here is the schedule:

Eldo Napoli – Armani Jeans Milano
Cimberio Varese – Lottomatica Roma
Premiata Montegranaro – Air Avellino
Solsonica Rieti – Benetton Treviso
La Fortezza Bologna – Pierrel Capo d’Orlando

SKY tells us that about 200 people are involved to make this project happen. I don’t want to hear any complaints anymore from Italy that basketball does not get enough attention!

I am not sure if we talk about the same station. I know there is something out like SKY news and SKY sports – but this is not the same as this SKY in Italy. You have to have a separate box and a card to get this kind of SKY
