Nous sommes les champions: INSEP takes Nike Invitational Junior Tournament

Congratulations to the lads at INSEP for demolishing yet another BallinEurope fearless prediction taking the academy’s first-ever Nike International Junior Tournament in the team’s first-ever final four bid. Livio Jean-Charles had another outstanding game for the French side, contributing 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists on the way to the tournament MVP award.

Official Euroleague writeup below the break.

(Euroleague) – INSEP is the 2010 Nike International Junior Tournament champion! INSEP lifted the trophy by downing dethroned champion FMP, 83-73. Hugo Ivernizzi paced the winners with 16 points. Ulysse Adjagba and Livio Jean-Charles each added 15 while William Howard had 10 for INSEP. Nenad Miljenovic led FMP with 20 points and seven rebounds.

Ivernizzi sank two three-pointers midway through the fourth quarter to make the score 73-63 and sealing the outcome, as FMP never recovered. All INSEP players exploded with joy in a very emotional post-game celebration.

FMP and INSEP survived do-or-die battles to reach the final yesterday. After the game, INSEP’s Jean-Charles was also named MVP of the 2010 Tournament for his outstanding performances throughout the games, while the all-tournament team was comprised of Jean-Charles, Rafa Freire of Unicaja, Dovydas Redikas of Zalgiris, Hugo Invernizzi of INSEP, and Nikola Jankovic of FMP.
