Iverson arrives in Turkey, gets serenade in Istanbul airport

November 8, 2010

Allen Iverson’s flight touched down in Istanbul a bit after 9am local time this morning and if there’s any doubt as to whether Beşiktaş fans are 1000% behind their prospective on-court stud, A.I. certainly couldn’t see any.

Decked out in Philadelphia Phillies cap and Beşiktaş Cola Turka white-and-black, Iverson immediately endeared himself to the throng of fans waiting inside and outside the airport to catch a glimpse. As a rugby scrum of security types and media guided the smiling American, Mr. Answer was lustily regaled with fight songs and vocal enthusiasm from supporters. (Video below the break.)

Olé olé olé olé, indeed … welcome to Turkey, Allen Iverson!
