Making money betting sports

January 4, 2018

The vast majority of gamblers bet sports not only for amusement but for profit. Only after string of losses they realize that it’s almost impossible to beat the bookie without using some kind of betting strategy.

What can be done if most betting strategies do not ensure bettor a 100% profit? And that is where sports arbitrage betting comes in.

Sports Arbitrage Betting Description

Sports arbitrage situation appears due to odds difference between bookmakers in opposing outcomes of the sports event.

However, the difference in odds enables the bettor to put a stake and get safe profit regardless of the score.

In terms of the kick-off, all arbs are divided into Prematch and Live arbitrage situations (arbs). Prematch arbs appear owing to the odds difference in sports events that begin in a while, and Live abrs appear in real-time events.

We can also divide the arbs by the number of outcomes. The most commonly found arbs are 2way situations. However, 3way arbs are also widely spread. Moreover, sometimes we can find even 6way arbs, though it’s quite rare.

Arb example

B1 – TU(213.5) = @1.80, TO(213.5) = @2.16

B2 – TU(213.5) = @2.02, TO(213.5) = @1.90

Here we see the odds for two different bookmakers (B1 and B2) for Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Clippers, and specifically the bets for the total of points.

Even without further calculations, it is clear that there is an arbitrage situation between TU(213.5) for B2 and TO(213.5) for B1 since the odds are higher than @2.0.

It means that if the gambler bets simultaneously on both above stated outcomes, let’s say $1000, we get minimum $20 profit: ($1000*2.02) – $2000 (total of two stakes) = $20.

We can freely claim sports arbitrage betting to be a pretty effective strategy. Nevertheless, we should consider the fact that the example contains the simplest, apparent and rare arb.

In fact, the search and calculation may take too much time and power, so gamblers employ the services of specialized bookmaker scanners.

The aim of such services lies in comparison of bookmaker lines on the availability of arbitrage situations and further provision of relevant data to the clients.

BetBurger arbitrage service

BetBurger is the best service to search for sports arbitrage situations, and this can be seen by multiple positive reviews.

Currently, the scanner gathers and analyzes information from 100+ bookmakers in Live and Prematch.

Moreover, 20+ sports are scanned, and each client gets the information in the convenient table. The data the arber gets can be sorted out according to several criteria: arb’s percent, arb’s age, outcomes etc.

It’s worth noting that the service includes additional functionality like calculator, hiding menu, plugin for direct link to betslip etc.

Conclusion

There are significant benefits when it comes to sports arbitrage services, and these benefits can be experienced right after the gambler bought a subscription.

By the way, at BetBurger you can purchase even a one-day subscription or use a free version of the service, though with some certain limitations.
