Marc Salyers to ….?

April 25, 2008

The recent winner of the Euroleague Alphonso Ford Trophy and boyfriend of Chera Leigh announced that he will very probably leave Roanne at the end of the season despite another year of contract with the French team.

Salyers, who finished the Euroleague regular season with 21.79ppg,more than 4 points ahead of his closest competitor declared today that he got an offer that would put him financially in such a situation that he has enough money until the end of his days. Of course, this does not come from Chorale de Roanne, but Salyers did not reveal which team this offer has come from.

So the bets are open to see where Marc will move next season. And despite having another year of contract with Roanne, this move would also end as a nice financial coup for "la Chorale" as they will probably get a huge compensation to let him go out of his contract this summer.

I think he’s more of a Uleb Cup player, don’t think he’ll do fine in a top Euroleague team.

yes, i also have doubts, would he be good in top team.. Roane is one of the weakest teams in euroleague and Salyers had big freedom, to do what he wanted on court.. So maby first he should try himself in some medium Euroleague team.. But who knows? maybe I am wrong..

Surely he has a very very big offer from a Russian team. Don’t know if that’s the one he was talking about, but be sure there’s one there.

well, he just says that he got an offer that gives him a lot of money. What does that mean? A lot of money for him may be a normal contract for some other players.

He does not say that it is a Euroleague team. So it can also come from an ULEB Cup team or even from another team. I guess the offer comes from Russia but I may be wrond…

Oh…and for the ones above me….

The fact u don’t think he’s a top EL player, even if u r 100% right, doesn’t mean there are no top EL teams out there who agree with u:)

For me, it will be Russia/Spain (Barça or Real) : Marc Salyers enjoys the big city life !!!
He will be missed by all French fans, because (like him or not), he’s a competitor, a charismatic guy close to the fans.
    All the best to him.

The best EuroLeague sniper Marc Salyers (205-F-79) from Roanne (21,8 ppg, 6,6 rpg) will play in Azovmash this season! He prefered Ukrainian team to Russian Dynamo. By the way, he will play face-to-face with Artur Drozdov from BC Kyiv who knows Salyers by the common work in Pau-Orthez. Simonas Serapinas (197-F-82) from Prokom Trefl is the one more newcomer in Azovmash. So now Mariupol has a strong new roster with Capin, Thompson, Nsonwu, el-Amin, Salyers, Rizvica and Serapinas.
