My friend is an All-Star

January 11, 2008

Our friends at schoenen-dunk have organized a little competition these days to win some tickets for the German All-Star game. The goal was to send in a picture taken with a German Bundesliga player. When some readers may think, the quality of a German All-Star is not that good, check this out and you will see that at least the Germans have some quality photographs.

The top 10 pictures have been voted by a jury composed of some of the schoenen-dunk crew and I will just show you here some of the best pictures of this Top 10. And as for every Top10, we start at the bottom, and so we have a cute picture of Vincent Yarbrough together with two Freaks from Bamberg.

We go directly to the 4th place. And I have a question for John Whorton. Do you know what the word "hase" means? For the non-Germans, it means bunny.

When we come to the Top 3, we have a former German BBL player who is actually a Euroleague start for the Lithuanian Lietuvos Rytas. We speak of Chuck Eidson. What a nice hat for him and a pure Eidson fanatic from Giessen (former Eidson team) next to him who wears a shirt of SIG (former Eidson team). And I have a question here too: Where has this picture been taken?

Coming to the 2nd place, it really looks like a Euroleague All-Star voting here. Again a Lithuanian. It seems like even the schoenen-dunk jury has been taken over by some Lithuanian spam-voters 😉 We have here Zygimantas Jonusas with probably the youngest fan that participated to the contest. And it looks like the Lithuanians really like strange caps.

Coming to the first place, I won’t mention any names. But I guess that both persons don’t remember this moment quite well. Yes, and one of these two guys is a professional basketball player.

Thanks to schoenen-dunk for this huge contest, for all the pictures of the Top 10 then, you can see them here.

Well, since it’s me in the picture with Chuck… the photo was taken in Vilnius in Chucks apartement a few days ago… me and Chuck and his wife became friends during his time here in Giessen, and I went to see him in Lithuania a few days ago… we sure had a lot of fun and since we both got these great hats, it was a picture that HAD to be taken 😉
