No Luigi Lamonica at the Final Four?

April 18, 2008

Well, the Euroleague must be kidding. Luigi Lamonica, one of the only true stars of the European referee scene is not nominated for this year’s edition of the most prestigious basketball event of the continent? This is incredible.

I mean, which other Euroleague referee has his own Video Scouting report on youtube? Which other referee can wear a lumberjack shirt with such a grace? And which other Euroleague referee can say from himself that when you google his name, the first link that comes up is saying: “Lamonica is a thief“?

And when you check the official list of referees, you will see that another god of European referring has been ignored, the beloved Nikos Pitsilkas. Well the Euroleague fans can still hope that one of the 8 selected guys will drink from an Olympiacos water bottle or stay grounded because of an non-announced Alitalia strike so that we see at least one of the crowd favorites in Rome.

Because what you may not know is that Luigi Lamonica is also known for his career in movies. Well, we know that he is a great actor but did you know that he is the voice of the Italian Harrison Ford? Really, and he is also doubling Mr. Big in Sex and the City.

Well, just kidding. Thank you for letting him out…

Sand day for euroball! Unacceptable move by Euroleague…

About Pitsilkas now… could the reason be, that he will be a Euroleague giant GM next season? Just wondering…
