Hold the tweets: Rubio already has deal in place with Timberwolves?

June 16, 2011

Is “The Decision II” forthcoming? The “flashy styled,” “baby-faced” Ricky Rubio, of whom ESPN yesterday reported was to be rethinking his incipient deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, may already be committed to playing in the NBA for 2011-12.

The Worldwide Leader this morning (CET time) posted something of a backtrack from yesterday’s story, which fueled much speculation and internet chatter that Rubio might in fact stay with his ACB champion FC Barcelona squad for another season. Citing a source close to Rubio, Chris Sheridan wrote in an update that there hasn’t been “any change to Rubio’s plans to play in the NBA next season.”

Of course, Rubio’s stated intention to play in Minnesota was never confirmed by Timberwolves management anyway and his flirting with Barcelona could be no more than the 20-year-old’s neutral statement of Tuesday night that “we are talking with Barcelona and we will soon see.”

So how do you say “I’m gonna take my talents to Minnesota” in Catalan…?
