Sebastian Vettel: “My ideal teammate would be Nowitzki”

June 12, 2011

Dirk's first time trial?

If Formula 1 defending champion/dominant force this season Sebastian Vettel has his way, dominant playoff force Dirk Nowitzki could become the 21st-century Bo Jackson (or perhaps Walter Payton might be a better comparison).

In an interview with the German-language Die Bild, Vettel is asked who his ideal teammate with his Red Bull team might be. Joked (presumably) Vettel, “Who I would like best right now is Dirk Nowitzki. He is so big that he doesn’t fit in the car. Then I would have one fewer [race] opponent.” (“…Am liebsten wäre mir Dirk Nowitzki. Der ist so groß, der passt nicht mal ins Auto rein. Dann hätte ich da schon mal einen Gegner weniger.”)

Actually, maybe *that’s* what Nowitzki could be doing during a locked-out 2011-12 NBA season…
