Team of heroes – NIKE goes Europe

Nike team of heroesThe last 30 minutes or so I have been sitting here with an open mouth, not really knowing if I should believe what my eyes see. It is all about Maccabi Tel Aviv. Yes they won last night without Marcus Fizer but that is not the reason why I am still stunned. I mean I am happy for them, don’t get me wrong.

So what stunned me the last 30 minutes? Nike’s effort to go BIG in European basketball – and the way they do it. What you are about to see is more expected to be done by people like Micheal Jordan or Lebron James – well they have done things like that but we are talking about EUROPE – not exactly the place to be for companies like adidas or nike to spend a lot of money.

Things must have changed I guess – watch this:

    Yeah they’re going to sell maccabi gear and the official maccabi “LeBron James” shoe at their website. Maccabi is good but CSKA is even better and I wonder what their NIKE promotion will look like.
