Thank you, Drew

November 15, 2007

It was like a flashback I had when I watched the game between Efes Pilsen and Le Mans tonight. Le Mans led 25-11 in the first quarter and managed to go ahead  with 11 points in the beginning of the last ten minutes. But then came the Drew Nicholas show.

The former Maryland Terrapin showed two extremely crucial three pointers to bring his team back in the game in the money time. And these shots were real beauties. Running through several screens, coming up at 45 degrees with his defender Yannick Bokolo on him, catching the ball of a pass from the top of the key and knocking down a three point beauty in his defender’s face after jumping real high up out of a full speed running and landing at the exactly same spot that he took off. And this same move twice.

That were two of the best baskets I have seen in this week’s Euroleague action. And his team can say "Thank you Drew" as he was the only player to hit from down town consistently over the game as Efes finished with a poor 8/27 from behind the arc. And it was yet another frustrating defeat for Vincent Collet’s team after the Flopping scandal from last week.
