Streetball finals, dunk contest in the Netherlands this weekend? Redunkulous!

August 1, 2012

In case you happen to be in The Hague this weekend, you’ll want to take note of the Streetball Masters national finals and the second edition of the Dutch’s international dunk contest “Redunkulousity.”

Vincent van Sliedregt, 2011 Redunkulousity champion

Organized by Netherlands streetball overseers ST4R, Redunkulousity will be played out at 4pm on Saturday; featured talent includes specialists such as Haneef “Young Hollywood” Munir, the 2011 NBA All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Showdown winner); Slovenia’s Tijan Milic, Moscow Open 2011 dunk contest winner; Baltic Open 2011 dunk champ/2011 World Streetball Dunk Contest runner-up Kistaps Dargais of Latvia; Michael “Airdogg” Stewart, winner of the 2011 online Sprite Slam Dunk Contest; and Redunkulousity champion/homer Vincent van Sliedregt.

Also happening on Saturday as part of the festivities in the self-styled basketball capital of the Netherlands: The country’s NBA 2K12 tournament.
