Albert-Schweitzer Tournament 2008: all teams are set

The time is running and the Albert-Schweitzer Tournament is coming closer. The 2008 edition will again be played in the US Base in Mannheim,Germany and this from the 22nd to 29th March. and it has officially been launched with a press conference held this week.

The tournament, which is largely considered as the unofficial U18 World Championship will once again have a lot of quality young players in the German city. For all the people, who don’t know the tournament, a list of actual and former stars that have been present can help them to imagine what this is about.

Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Arvydas Sabonis, Toni Kukoc, Drazen Petrovic, Dino Radja, Valerij Tikhonenko, Igor Miglinieks, Antonello Riva, Juan San Epifanio or BJ Armstrong. Coming to still active players, the list is not less impressive. Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, Dirk Nowitzki, Mehmet Okur, Hidayet Turkoglu, Darius Songaila, Jerome Moiso, Igor Rakocevic, Tony Parker, Victor Khryapa, Ronny Turiaf, Boris Diaw, Zoran Planinic, Johan Petro, Andrew Bogut, Ersan Ilyasova or Yi Jianlian.

So this year’s edition will feature the future stars of the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Germany, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Canada, Croatia, New Zealand, Sweden, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, Russia and the USA.
