Another Warrior about to leave?

September 27, 2007

It looks like averaging 16.3 minutes with the Warriors is not enough for Kelenna Azubuike. Maybe the fact that 405 players in the NBA make more money than him can’t convince the UK man who played college ball at Kentucky. Or it’s just not enough to support his family again? Remember, Kelenna left Kentucky after his junior year to play professional Basketball in the NBA because he had to support the family since his father went to prison on fraud charges.

He is still in training camp with the Warriors but according to his agent they are in serious talks to some Euroleague teams like the Serbian champion Partizan Belgrade.

I am sure this would be a loss for the Warriors and even some American friends might agree since the Golden State of Mind introduced Azubuike like this:

It’s not official yet, but it looks like the Warriors will be bolstering their injured backcourt with NBDL superstar Kelenna Azubuike.

I am sure Partizan can need some help for the Euroleague since they are in the same group like Panathinaikos, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona were Azubuike would be a major improvement. By the way – Kelenna can jump!
