Highlights: Real survive, Barcelona cruise in ACB action

October 20, 2014

It was a busy weekend in the top flight of arguably Europe’s strongest league. Joventut Badalona gave Real Madrid all they could handle but eventually the home side pulled through to escape with the W 90-88.

Barcelona had no such trouble with Gran Canaria, the Blaugrana cruised past the islanders 80-61.

Bilbao Basket, whose very presence in Liga Endesa was in doubt during the off-season, recorded a solid home win over UCAM Murcia 82-74.

And finally, the ‘other’ team in the title race Valencia bounced back from defeat to Olympiacos in Euroleague with a 69-77 win at CAI Zaragoza, with Luke Harangody scoring 17 points and grabbing 9 rebounds along the way.
