John Lucas III twitters about contract issues

May 26, 2009

John Lucas III arrived in Spain this May to play for one of the best teams in Europe, TAU Vitoria. Everything is going well, as Vitoria qualified for the semifinals in the local ACB league and Lucas is a important part of the team as backup point guard. Well, just until yesterday evening…

At that moment, John Lucas III published the following Tweet.

So tell me why my team is short on my money. They must don’t know i do not play when it come to my money. Got my agent all over it

What is happening? TAU, one of the most prominent clubs in Europe is not paying the US guard, or has Lucas never learned grammar, I asked myself. While the second question remained open, the first was clarified two hours later.

i was just playing around i am sorry for makeing flase statments and I am sorry

And even 5 hours later, Lucas comes back to the incident again.

I will like to clear the air. I was not talking about my team that I play for now. Team I am on now is one of the best team I have been

so i am sorry if anybody thought I was talking about my current team I was not.

Probably his agent got all over him for publishing such stuff. At least it is more interesting than some stuff that Josh Childress talks about on his Twitter account.

Ahhhh having lunch on the beach is great. Having lunch on a beach where most of the women are topless is even better. Yeeeeeessssss

    Probably? Definitely!

re: “At least it is more interesting than some stuff that Josh Childress talks about on his Twitter account.”

What? Yo, i’ll take a line about topless Italian women over contract dispute discussions any day — hey, i get enough of the bitching about money at my job. (And just to clear the air, I was not talking about my job that I work for now at BallinEurope. Website I am on now is one of the best websites I have been.)

As for Josh’s reportage on, um, local dining habits, is his family letting him hang out on those kinds of beaches regularly? I mean, he’s American, right? Barely out of high school and all?

I tell ya, he’s living the dream of many a Yank 19-year-old right about now…

    Excellent post.

    Cheers,
    Os.

    childress is in Greece…and he’s 25.
And I’m seriously glad he finds time to appreciate anything that happens down there while obviously being disgusted at losing the finals and facing weird fans.
And it seems unbelievable to me that a guy from the d-league who comes to one of the most professional teams in the world with excellent staff and training facilities and a history of being professional and successful and just overall great even thinks about bitching about his team. He could well go back to his beloved Colorado 14ers if he thinks Tau is so terrible…
