Late Monday’s cigarettes

April 6, 2009

Here we go for the next round of the traditional Monday morning evening cigarette break.

  • Ricky Rubio and Brandon Jennings are featured on the cover of the new edition of SLAM.
  • Barrack Obama talks about Turkish hoops.
  • Some talk about Allen Iverson going to play in Europe.
  • Lietuvos Rytas won the Eurocup this weekend and it was, among others, this amazing buzzer beater by Mindaugas Lukauskis in the semis that got the team into Euroleague 2009/2010.
  • ALBA Berlin loses its first Bundesliga game in the O2 World against Brose Baskets Bamberg. Coach Fleming’s team was supported by more than 1000 Bamberg fans, turning the away game into a home match. Video highlights are available at the link.
  • Felipe Reyes sees a disciplinary procedure opened against him and his team Real Madrid after having declared in the Spanish media “How is it that three referees, especially the Turkish one, come to our home and steal the game like they did? This is what happens in the Euroleague when there is money. Money is bad, especially now that we all are in crisis. I don’t know if the refs accept it or not, but it looks like they do.”
  • Like nearly every week, a great Top 5 from the ACB.
