Sources: Milicic, Pekovic sign with Timberwolves for $33 million combined

July 1, 2010

Pekovic finally a Timberwolf

Incredible, unbelievable and who’d a thunk it just nine months ago? Sources are reporting to ESPN this afternoon EST that the Minnesota Timberwolves are on the verge of signing Darko Milicic to a four-year, $20 million contract.

Other sources tell ESPN, meanwhile, that the ‘Wolves and Nikola Pekovic have finally agreed on a three-year, $13 million deal as well. Pekovic was Minnesota’s second round draft pick in 2008.

BallinEurope still can’t help thinking that this will hardly get their true potential franchise player, Ricky Rubio, over there any sooner.

Interesting time to be a Timberwolves fan…

First of all, Pekovic is worth by himself about $50 million in the NBA.

Secondly, Rubio is not, and never will ever will never ever never be a franchise player. NEVER EVER NEVER. PERIOD.

why won’t rubio join minny? he’s got europeans for teammates darko and pekovic. minnesota is like sweden or norway.

plus, spain is becoming greece. i don’t think he will be able to wait much longer if spain’s basketball league starts having financial difficulties.

minny is the perfect place for him to grow and not get too pressured by expectations.

Minny is nothing like Sweden or Norway. other than cold weather, and even then those countries are much warmer.
